Baseball Recap: May River Has No Trouble Against Colleton County

May River never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Colleton County Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Trace Mischik and Fergus Varley did most of the damage at the plate: Mischik went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Varley went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Varley has become a key player for May River: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joseph Maybank, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

May River pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Colleton County, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14-2.
