There's no place like home for Tift County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Camden County Wildcats on Friday as the Tift County Blue Devils made off with a 49-29 victory. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Wildcats are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Tift County to victory were Cordell Nelson and Marshall Howard. Nelson posted 11 points and five boards, while Howard had nine points and six rebounds. What's more, Howard also posted a 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was JJ Lamar, who put up ten points.

Despite the loss, Camden County still got an impressive performance from Jayden Ayala, who scored ten points and seven rebounds. Jeremiah Reeder was another key player, putting up four points.

Tift County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Camden County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Tift County has already played their next contest, a 47-43 loss against Valdosta on the 8th. As for Camden County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-24 defeat against Lowndes on the 8th.
