Janiah Mitchell commands the offense for a Bulldogs win

Recap: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Taylor County Bulldogs

The Suwannee Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Taylor County Bulldogs, and things went their way on Monday too. Suwannee came out on top against Taylor County by a score of 51-42. Given Suwannee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Taylor County is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suwannee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Janiah Mitchell, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Zjamyah Wilson, who scored 11 points.

Despite the loss, Taylor County still got an impressive performance from Aniyah Ellis, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Irene Meler, who scored ten points.

Suwannee pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Taylor County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Suwannee will be home for the holidays to greet Crossroad Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crossroad Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Taylor County, they will take on Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
