Basketball Recap: Arapahoe Gets the Win

If Smoky Hill wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Arapahoe, they should've done a better job of containing Gianna Smith. The Arapahoe Warriors simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Smoky Hill Buffaloes 77-21 for which the team can thank Smith, who en route to 34 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Arapahoe's points.

Another player making a difference was Jaya White, who on her way to 14 points along with five assists and five steals. She has become a key player for Arapahoe: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 8-9 otherwise.

Arapahoe's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Smoky Hill, they dropped their record down to 5-17 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.
