Soccer Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan vs. Hartselle

The Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Hartselle Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mortimer Jordan's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Minor with a sharp 9-0 victory. Mortimer Jordan haven't had any issues with Minor recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mortimer Jordan's offense was hitting Minor from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Eila Cawley led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Hartselle got the win against Buckhorn on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-0. Given Hartselle's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Buckhorn are ranked 120th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mortimer Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Hartselle, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Mortimer Jordan might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Hartselle in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
