Football Recap: De Anza Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Fremont last Friday, De Anza came back down to earth. The Dons fell just short of the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins by a score of 22-19 on Friday. The Dons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Santos out in front who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Santos got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 63 yards. Baron Laxa also helped with two scores in total.

De Anza's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

De Anza and St. Patrick-St. Vincent will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Dons see the field they'll take on Pinole Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, their break will end when they face Bethel at 7:30 p.m. on October 11.
