Basketball Recap: Hancock Central Triumphs

While Hancock Central has struggled at home with three straight losses, that wasn't the case on Saturday thanks to Sonovia Reynolds. The Hancock Central Bulldogs took down the Warren County Screaming Devils 54-35 thanks in part to Reynolds, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 23 points in addition to five boards and three steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Hargrove, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in January.

Ja'Keria Few and Tamia Williams certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Few posted six points along with nine boards and three steals, while Williams had nine points and six rebounds. Few continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Hancock Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Warren County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock Central will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Wilkinson County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Warren County, they will head out to square off against Treutlen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
