Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. West Davidson Dragons

Lexington is 0-10 against West Davidson since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. Lexington will look to defend their home field against West Davidson at 7:00 p.m. Lexington has given up an average of 16.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lexington is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to Western Guilford.

West Davidson never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Thomasville on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Dragons have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Asher Jordan tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

West Davidson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
