Basketball Recap: Tri-Township Takes a Loss

Tri-Township's game on Tuesday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies 44-38. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs & Fillies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-Township lost, don't look at Jayde Pryor. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points along with eight boards and five steals. That was a full 36.8% of Tri-Township's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Armentia, who earned seven points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kouts to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Birky, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ellie Nemeth, who had eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Tri-Township has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Kouts, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Tri-Township will take on Morgan Township at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kouts, they will head out to take on La Porte at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
