Preview: Seminary Bulldogs vs. Magee Trojans
The Seminary Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Magee Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Magee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Seminary, who comes in off a win.
Seminary fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Hazlehurst with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 25-6. 25 seems to be a good number for Seminary as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Magee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Jefferson Davis County on the road by a decisive 43-29 margin. While losing is never fun, Magee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Jefferson Davis County is ranked 29th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Christian Hubbard, who picked up 174 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Middleton, who threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns.
Seminary's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Magee, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Seminary came up short against Magee in their previous matchup back in October of 2020, falling 28-22. Can Seminary avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
