Basketball Recap: Mendenhall's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mendenhall hadn't done well against Quitman recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mendenhall Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-60 win over the Quitman Panthers. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two points.

The victory (which was Mendenhall's third in a row) raised their record to 17-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points over those games. As for Quitman, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.

Mendenhall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-37 defeat against Morton on the 7th. As for Quitman, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
