Caliche is a perfect 10-0 against Prairie since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Buffaloes will host the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Caliche will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Peetz on Monday. The Buffaloes blew past the Bulldogs 17-10. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buffaloes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caliche got a massive performance out of Zander Yost, who went 3-for-6 with seven stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. The Buffaloes are undefeated when Yost posts three or more hits, but 2-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colton Cochran, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
Yost wasn't the only one making solid contact: Caliche kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Buffaloes are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Prairie waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 19-9 win. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly ten runs.
The team relied heavily on Brennon Bringelson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Beau Carlson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Prairie pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Caliche, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Caliche hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Prairie struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
