Previewing the Spalding Hoophall Classic

Five-day extravaganza features 31 games, including showdown between No. 2 University and No. 3 Oak Hill Academy.

Annually high school basketball's premier showcase event, the Spalding Hoophall Classic tips Thursday in Springfield, Mass.

This year's slate runs over five days, featuring 31 games and 12 teams ranked in MaxPreps.com's Top 25 this week.

The most pivotal matchup will be Monday's showdown between City of Palms Classic champion No. 2 University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Chick-fil-A Classic and Les Schwab Invitational champion No. 3 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.).



A second head-to-head Top 25 game between No. 16 Oak Ridge (Orlando, Fla.) and No. 25 Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.) takes place Saturday.

Other ranked teams in action include No. 1 Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), No. 6 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), No. 8 Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) and No. 9 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.).

ESPN and ESPNU will broadcast five games from Blake Arena in Springfield.
