Baseball Recap: Catskill Comes Up Short

Catskill lost to Chatham back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cats fell 9-5 to the Panthers.

Catskill got a good showing from Lucas Paquette, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Paquette has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Catskill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Bulich, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Catskill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Chatham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Catskill will head out to square off against Cairo-Durham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Chatham, they will venture away from home to face off against Highland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
