Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoover). They blew past the Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars 22-1 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tornados as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Owen Marks made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Gabriel Flores was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Hoover: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Jesse Carbonneau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hoover was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hoover's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Palmdale Academy Charter School, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Coming up, Hoover will face off against Pasadena at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tornados are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Palmdale Academy Charter School, they will venture away from home to face off against Victor Valley Christian at 3:00 p.m. on the 17th.
