I Sunset - Southwest recap October 22, 2013

Legacy took down Bonanza 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Centennial made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,697 from 4,071. The improvement was largely due to a 36-19 victory over Desert Oasis last week.

Michael Barnson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cimarron-Memorial lost to Bishop Gorman. Barnson's favorite target this week was Maurice Bennett, who caught 2 passes for 52 yards.

Alize Jones was the best receiver in I Sunset - Southwest this week as the Gaels topped the Spartans. Jones racked up 4 receptions for 76 yards. Terrance Chambers helped Bishop Gorman's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.

Bishop Gorman's Randall Cunnigham Jr. and Jones led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Cunnigham Jr. has thrown for 909 yards this season, while Jones has 21 catches for 327 yards. Barnson from Cimarron-Memorial leads the league in rushing with 1,008 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Bulldogs and John Parcells' team. Centennial comes into the matchup ranked 17th in the state, while the Spartans ranks 19th.

The Longhorns led I Sunset - Southwest in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Bengals.
