Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Grant Pacers

Kennedy is 0-10 against Grant since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Kennedy Cougars will host the Grant Pacers at 7:30 p.m. Kennedy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Grant likes a good challenge.

Kennedy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They took down Cordova 70-53. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Lancers are ranked 942nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy had a senior duo take command as Clif Chandler-Manning posted 19 points and Aharon Young put up 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chandler-Manning has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Lawrence, who had eight points.

Meanwhile, Grant came up short against Destiny Christian Academy on Friday and fell 51-38. The Pacers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Grant, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
