Softball Recap: Brooks Comes Up Short

Brooks and Hatton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Brooks had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-1 loss on Friday.

Brooks has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-17 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Hatton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-24-2.

Brooks wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Central on the 29th. As for Hatton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-8 victory against Wilson on the 29th.
