Softball Recap: Independence 76ers vs. San Jose Bulldogs

Independence proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the San Jose Bulldogs 13-12. Winning may never get old, but the 76ers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Julieta Ramirez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up eight earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Ava Sanchez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackenzy Sauao, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and one run.
