Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Galion Tigers
Lucas has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Galion Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucas has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 393 points over their last six games.
Lucas has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Loudonville, posting a 66-39 win at home. That's two games straight that Lucas has won by exactly 27 points.
Even though Galion has not done well against Pleasant recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Galion came out on top against Pleasant by a score of 52-43. Winning may never get old, but Galion sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Lucas pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.64 points. As for Galion, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Lucas strolled past Galion in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 74-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lucas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
