Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery Aztecs vs. Ridgeview Wolf Pack

The Montgomery Aztecs will face off against the Ridgeview Wolf Pack at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Montgomery, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Montgomery beat Monte Vista 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Aztecs in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won three in a row.

Erick Ramos looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Marco Reyes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was David Abdul, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview lost 12-2 to Classical Academy on Monday.

Ridgeview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Edwin Hidalgo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Ridgeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Montgomery skirted past Ridgeview 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Aztecs repeat their success, or do the Wolf Pack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
