Preview: Engadine Eagles vs. Bear Lake Lakers
Engadine is 0-1 against Bear Lake since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Engadine Eagles will be playing at home against the Bear Lake Lakers at 7:00 p.m. Engadine will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Engadine got themselves on the board against Superior Central, but Superior Central never followed suit. They really took it to the Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 36-0 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Engadine, who have now won four games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Hayden Oneil and Hunter Cameron were among the main playmakers for Engadine as the former rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown and the latter picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bear Lake was the victim of a tough 32-6 defeat at the hands of Catholic Central on Thursday.
Engadine's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Superior Central, Hale, and Mid Peninsula. Bear Lake has been struggling this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight games, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season.
Engadine came up short against Bear Lake in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, falling 40-30. Can Engadine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
