Volleyball Recap: Ella Marker Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Northwood

Shell Lake won the last time they faced Northwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lakers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Evergreens. The win was some much needed relief for the Lakers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shell Lake was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-9.

Shell Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Marker out in front who had 15 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Marker has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shauna Swan, who had 11 assists and three aces.

Shell Lake's record now sits at 5-6. As for Northwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Shell Lake will face off against Prairie Farm at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Northwood and Turtle Lake will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
