Football Recap: Rensselaer Central Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Rensselaer Central and Andrean squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Rensselaer Central had to settle for second. They lost 35-14 to the Fighting 59ers. The Bombers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Despite the loss, Rensselaer Central still got an impressive performance from Carter Ogborn, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Andrean was led to victory by Brady Stovall and Tyler Vo. Stovall rushed for 58 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, while Vo picked up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown. What's more, Stovall posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September.

Rensselaer Central moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Andrean, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Rensselaer Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Andrean, they will face off against Southmont at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting 59ers will need to watch out since the Mounties have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
