Softball Recap: Southlands Christian Eagles vs. Big Bear Bears
Southlands Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Bear Bears. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Natalia Bargas put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Bargas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emily Acosta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Lauren Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
Southlands Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Big Bear, they moved to 9-11-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
