Basketball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Northwestern challenged Parkdale on Thursday. The Northwestern Wildcats took a blow against the Parkdale Panthers, falling 68-40. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Parkdale was led to victory by Alusine Mansaray and EJ Healey. Mansaray went 8 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Healey went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Mansaray a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Brightly Anagho, who posted seven points.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Parkdale, their record is now 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will square off against Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwestern is facing Bladensburg at the right time seeing as Bladensburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Parkdale, they will take on Bowie at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Parkdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
