Football Game Preview: Lutheran South Academy Pioneers vs. St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds

The Lutheran South Academy Pioneers will take on the St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lutheran South Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five games.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Bend Christian Academy on Friday, taking the game 26-18. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bloodhounds.

St. Joseph Academy's win came from a few key players Lutheran South Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gavin Cisneros, who rushed for 142 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 64 yards and one touchdown. Another back making a difference was Andre Cristiano, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD.

St. Joseph Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Christian Academy only rushed for 148.

Lutheran South Academy's record now sits at 8-3. As for St. Joseph Academy, their record is now 5-6.

Lutheran South Academy might still be hurting after the 40-14 loss they got from St. Joseph Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Pioneers, Claudio Torres (who rushed for 315 yards and four scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 47 receiving yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
