Baseball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 11-4 to the Davenport Central Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 on Thursday.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 6-24. As for Davenport Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Clinton is taking a road trip to take on Fort Dodge at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Dodgers' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the River Kings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Davenport Central has already played their next game (against Ottumwa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
