Baseball Recap: Maplesville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Maplesville came into Wednesday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Ellwood Christian Eagles on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Red Devils have posted since April 1, 2024.

Luke Gray made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gray was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Cade Smith was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season. Pearce Yergan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Maplesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
