The team relied heavily on Brynn Todd, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Josie Friend was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Evansville Mater Dei lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Evansville Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Castle, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 29th.
Madison Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
Evansville Mater Dei now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Evansville Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Evansville Mater Dei hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Evansville Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .419. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
