Basketball Recap: Mount Juliet Christian Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mount Juliet Christian Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They received a blow as they fell 61-42 to the Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks. The Saints were down 53-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 64.5 points this season.

Merrol Hyde Magnet found their leader in sophomore Eliot Johnson, who went 7-for-10 en route to 15 points and five steals. Noah Beloney was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on University School of Nashville at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Liberty Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
