Volleyball Recap: Varina Starts Season with Loss at Home

Varina unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Matoaca Warriors on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.

Looking ahead, Varina will venture away from home to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Matoaca, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Norfolk Academy on the 29th.
