Sierra Grande's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They really took it to the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-15 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 21 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sierra Grande to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylyn Quezada, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten steals. That's the most steals Quezada has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eneria Quintana, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 steals.

Sierra Grande smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Sierra Grande is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.9 points over those games. Sangre de Cristo is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Sierra Grande wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-29 defeat against Center on the 15th. As for Sangre de Cristo, they have also already played their next matchup, a 66-16 victory against Antonito on the 15th.
