Franklin extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 5-2. They breezed past the McGregor Bulldogs to the tune of 54-13. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 41 points or more this season.

As for McGregor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 808th, while Franklin is ranked 96th).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bubba Zacharias, who threw for 178 yards and a pair of TDs.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Franklin is set to square off against their familiar foe C.H. Yoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, McGregor will take on rival Little River Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
