Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Westview Wolverines

Mt. Carmel and Westview are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will be playing at home against the Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Mt. Carmel and three for Westview.

Last Tuesday, Mt. Carmel ended up a good deal behind Poway and lost 65-50.

Mt. Carmel might have lost, but man, Makai Orje was a machine: he went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points. Orje continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Humphrey, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Westview played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against San Marcos, falling 92-45. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.

Westview now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-22.
