Basketball Game Preview: Fort Bend Kempner Cougars vs. Victoria West Warriors

The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars will challenge the Victoria West Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fort Bend Kempner took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Victoria East 60-45.

Fort Bend Kempner can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Washington, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds, and Landen Parker, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. That's the most points Washington has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Haynes, who put up six points.

Fort Bend Kempner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Victoria West beat Lamar Consolidated 46-37 on Friday.

Fort Bend Kempner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Victoria West, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
