Basketball Recap: Brocton Takes a Loss

Brocton lost against Frewsburg back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Brocton Bulldogs fell to the Frewsburg Bears 62-58. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row.

Frewsburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kael Collver, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Collver has become a key player for Frewsburg: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least ten boards, but 4-7 otherwise. Blake Weaver was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Brocton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Frewsburg, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brocton will welcome Cattaraugus-Little Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brocton is facing Cattaraugus-Little Valley at the right time seeing as Cattaraugus-Little Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Frewsburg, they will be playing at home against Panama at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
