The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will square off against the Bountiful RedHawks at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Maple Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.

Maple Mountain heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Jordan by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Taylee Robinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Aris Baker also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Bountiful faced Springville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The RedHawks had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 3-2.

Ella Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Claire Yates was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Maple Mountain moved to 20-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 27-5.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Maple Mountain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Bountiful struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Bountiful when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 13-9. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the RedHawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
