Pendleton County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Pocahontas County on Saturday. The Wildcat put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Wildcat have won three matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Owens was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Armentrout, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pendleton County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pocahontas County, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Pendleton County will take on Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pocahontas County, they will be playing at home against Mount View at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
