Softball Game Preview: Perth Amboy Panthers vs. Kennedy Memorial Mustangs

Perth Amboy hasn't had much luck against Kennedy Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers will take on the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. Kennedy Memorial took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Perth Amboy, who comes in off a win.

Perth Amboy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against East Brunswick Vo-Tech, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over East Brunswick Vo-Tech on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Kiarelys Santiago, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Pardo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Memorial lost 11-1 to Edison on Wednesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennedy Memorial's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Perth Amboy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Perth Amboy came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy Memorial in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
