Football Recap: Gibson County Comes Up Short

Gibson County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the Obion County Rebels, falling 46-0. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Rebels are ranked 154th).

As for Obion County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.5 points this season.

Tucker Moore was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 201 yards and three scores on only nine carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Joshua Davis was in the mix too, providing Obion County with one touchdown.

Gibson County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 loss against Peabody on the 5th. As for Obion County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 28-0 victory against Gleason on the 5th.
