Zionsville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Franklin Central Flashes an 8-0 shutout. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The result came thanks to Davis Moore's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zionsville let Liam Salapka and Riley Agbonhese run wild. Salapka got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Agbonhese went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Salapka a new career-high. Camden Moore was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Zionsville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Franklin Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Zionsville beat the Flashes by a score of 12-5 on Friday.
