Volleyball Recap: Lewis Mills Comes Up Short

Lewis Mills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Southington Blue Knights. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Blue Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Lewis Mills was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Southington's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13, 25-15.

Grady Mullen paced Lewis Mills' offense, picking up four kills. Mullen got some help from Andrew Hurd and his nine assists.

Lewis Mills' loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Southington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Lewis Mills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Enfield on the 7th. As for Southington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against CREC [Civic Leaderdship/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering/Metropolitan Learning Center] on the 6th.
