Baseball Game Preview: Gresham Community Wildcats vs. Almond-Bancroft Eagles

The Gresham Community Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Almond-Bancroft Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gresham Community's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Almond-Bancroft's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Gresham Community made easy work of Marion and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Almond-Bancroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to Port Edwards. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Gresham Community pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season. As for Almond-Bancroft, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Gresham Community might still be hurting after the 15-8 defeat they got from Almond-Bancroft in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
