Schaumburg has gone a perfect 7-0 against Wheeling recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Saxons will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m.

On Wednesday, Schaumburg came up short against Hersey and fell 4-2. The defeat continues a trend for Schaumburg in their meetings with Hersey: they've now lost nine in a row.

Larissa Baldwin and Grace Nelson scored both of Schaumburg's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, Wheeling had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Proviso East 2-1 on Thursday.

Wheeling's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Schaumburg, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 4-4-2.

Everything went Schaumburg's way against Wheeling in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Schaumburg made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saxons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
