Baseball Recap: El Camino Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

El Camino had lost five games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 11-11 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Mt. Carmel Sundevils get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 3rd.

The result came thanks to Zane Nordquist's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Stelzer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

As for Mt. Carmel, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-8 record. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

On Mt. Carmel's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

El Camino will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sundevils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
