Softball Recap: Hampden Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Hampden put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Oxford Hills Vikings. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 7-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cat Facchini spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Kiera Gabric was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Hampden pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Oxford Hills, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
