Softball Recap: Hutto Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stony Point, Hutto was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Round Rock Dragons a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Hippos: when they faced off against the Dragons back in February, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Hutto has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Round Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hutto will square off against rival McNeil at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Round Rock is set to take on their familiar foe Stony Point at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Dragons have won five straight at home, while the Tigers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
