Basketball Recap: Coachella Valley Takes a Loss

Coachella Valley is still winless after their matchup against La Quinta on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blackhawks. The Mighty Arabs were not able to make up for their loss to the Blackhawks from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Coachella Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nathan Bacilio posted 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Bacilio. Another player making a difference was Gabe Aguilar, who put up nine points.

Coachella Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for La Quinta, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Coachella Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-38 defeat against Citrus Hill on the 5th. As for La Quinta, they have also already played their next game, a 79-36 loss against Silverado on the 5th.
