Basketball Game Preview: Rich Rebels vs. Big Piney Punchers

Having just played yesterday, the Rich Rebels will jump right back in to play the Big Piney Punchers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rich will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Rich's tournament run continued when they took on Kemmerer on Friday. Rich came out on top against Kemmerer by a score of 43-36.

Rich found their leader in sophomore Braylyn Pugmire, who went 8 for 9 on her way to 19 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pugmire has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Smith, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Big Piney was just a bucket shy of victory back in December of 2024 and fell 47-46 to Wright. The Punchers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Big Piney's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Rich, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Rich took their win against Big Piney in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 48-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rich since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
